SilverStone Lucid LD03 Glass Mini-ITX Case Review & Performance

Mnpctech teamed up with Mosquito from The Mod Zoo to share an in-depth overview and review of SilverStone's new LD03 Glass Mini-ITX Case. We were both given a sample of the case to use. In the video above we share our personal experience with installing a system and using the Silverstone LD03 for several weeks. We both chose to equip our Silverstone LD03 case samples with AMD Ryzen hardware. I utilized an air cooled system. The vertically cooled hardware layout in the Silverstone LD03 intrigued me. Mosquito did a full-on custom liquid cooled build in the video review.

Key features about the Silverstone LD03 Tempered Glass ITX PC Case.

  • Support up to 190mm air cooler of height
  • Support SFX / SFX-L power supply up to 130mm of length (The maximum wattage for SFX-L is 800W, SilverStone SX800-LTI is recommended)
  • Support graphics card up to 309mm of length
  • Support 2.5" x 2 or (2.5" x 1) + (3.5" x 1) devices.

Pros of the Silverstone LD03 ITX Glass Computer Case:

*Overall compact design (small footprint for workspace)

*Vertical Cooling design.

*Overall Fit and finish.

*Very quick and easy to dismantle. Especially the tool less design panels.

*PWM Fan splitter included in accessories, ITX MBs have limited number of fan headers

* Easy Access to all parts when installing, due to being open on 3 sides

* Different design to the standard tempered glass cube cases

Cons of the Silverstone LD03 ITX Glass Computer Case:

*Cards 200 Watts or smaller

*Not designed for non-reference GPU coolers (ideal for AMD/ Nvidia reference cards)

*Short n stubby motherboard screws, maybe more nuisance than convenience

*Nowhere to hide cables

* SSD/HDD bracket can get in the way of many cooling options

* No access to a CPU back plate after installing motherboard

* Would have loved to see a better exhaust path for the PSU than just into the rest of the case
